heavy, i rose. is a video letter
to a lover, partner and best friend. I have abandoned critical discriminatory
practices when it comes to sentimentalism in this particular piece, but
it is, in fact, an exercise in restraint.
The visuals fall uneasily between casual and pointed, beautiful and empty,
the lushness of summer and the mundanity of suburbia. All is beautiful,
especially that glass of wine.
heavy, i rose. is personal, but describes no bodies, shows no lovers or sex,
speaks of no vital transgression. Just loads of emptiness and the indifference of
the seasons.
