The Third Interval
is named for Paul Virilio's writings on speed, the Internet, the human
place on the electronic bullet train. Shot with my old Nokia 6130 cell phone
and sound-mixed using Apple's GarageBand software, this is a low-tech homage
to the in-between spaces of everyday life. I was in the mood for
letting the ordinary horrors of day to day existence surface - the confusion of strangers, noise, and the universe of near-misses that one can
sometimes feel pulling at one's heels. But please remember that a horror
movie is always about the engagement of mystery, wonderment and fear.
